PRINTABLE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

The sixth annual Stars and Stripes Legion Baseball Tournament will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 through Monday, July 4.

Last year Minneapolis Southwest claimed their first title in three tries when they defeated Osseo in the championship game, 3-0 before an announced crowd of 968. Delano defeated Tri-City Blue in the third place game, 5-4. St. Louis Park used a late inning rally to defeat Andover, 5-4 in extra innings to claim the consolation championship.

All games will be played at historic Municipal Stadium at Central Park. Featured in the book Town Ball The Glory Days of Minnesota Amateur Baseball, Municipal Stadium became one of the first ballparks in the state to have lights. On August 20, 1948 the Delano Athletics played Chaska the defending 1947 Class A State Champions in a light-dedication game. WCCO radio personality Cedric Adams emceed the event.
