Fireworks

  • It’s a longstanding tradition to have the fireworks on the last night of the Delano 4th of July celebration. Sometimes the last day falls on the 4th of July, but usually they occur on another day. This allows for a more evenly spread itinerary and keeps people enjoying a huge variety of activities all weekend long!

  • The best place to watch our best in class Fireworks display is anywhere on the dyke along River Street. This will give you a view of the ground show as well as the aerial display.

  • If you do not want to be that close, you can see the aerial display from anywhere in Central Park.

Parade

Believe it or not, we’ve had many parades in the rain! The parade will occur ON SCHEDULE unless you hear otherwise (and that’d only be due to safety issues with severe storms.) Rain alone will not affect the timing of the parade.

If severe weather occurs, the parade will be postponed. These decisions are not made until the morning of the parade to avoid unnecessary postponements.

  • You may reserve a spot starting at sunrise on July 4. The City of Delano reserves the right to remove anything left on public sidewalks or walkways prior to then.

  • The parade begins at Central Park and ends at the entrance to Delano High School. It goes from River Street, to Railroad Ave, to 4th Street, to Elm Ave!
